Gripweave Flat Rug Edge Tape

What it is and how it is made

Gripweave Flat Rug Edge Tape is a thin mesh tape with adhesive on both sides. The material is translucent mesh fabric, so it stays discreet under a rug or mat. There is no separate backing to peel away from a liner, the tape itself is the adhesive layer on both faces.

The tape is about 0.04 in (1 mm) thick. That low profile helps it sit flat under a rug edge without creating a bump. It is made for fixing carpets, rugs and mats indoors.

Sizes

Each roll is 32.8 ft (10 m) long. Pick the width that matches the job. Narrow tape suits a light mat or a short edge. Wider tape covers more surface and gives a stronger hold on a larger rug.

Where to use it

Use this tape indoors to keep carpets, rugs and mats from shifting. It works at a doorway under a mat, under the edge of a runner in a hallway, and under an area rug in a living room or bedroom. It also suits a kitchen rug that slides near a sink or a small mat by a bathroom vanity.

Press it onto a clean, dry surface for the best grip. Smooth the rug from the center out to push out air, then press down along the taped edges with your hands or a soft cloth.

How to fit it

1. Clean the floor and the back of the rug. Remove dust, grit and any oil so the adhesive can bond.
2. Let the surface dry fully.
3. Cut a strip of tape to the length you need. A few short strips along the edges and corners are often enough for a small mat. For a larger rug, run strips along the sides and add a strip in the middle.
4. Press the tape onto the floor first, then lower the rug onto it. Smooth the rug from the center out to push out air.
5. Press down along the taped edges with your hands or a soft cloth.

To remove the tape, lift the rug edge and peel the tape back slowly. Wipe the area with a damp cloth.

Care

Wipe the tape clean with a damp cloth when you spot dust or grit along an edge. Keep the roll closed and store it flat in a dry place so the exposed adhesive stays ready for the next job. Replace a strip when it stops holding. A fresh strip takes only a minute to cut and press into place.
