Luminous Anti-Slip Stair Tape is a black anti-slip tape with a green glow-in-the-dark stripe running down the middle. The top surface is coarse grit that gives shoes and bare feet something to grip. The tape is about 0.2 in (6 mm) thick, so it sits low on the step while still adding real texture underfoot.
The back is coated with adhesive. You peel the liner and press the tape onto a clean, dry step. The green stripe takes in light and glows in the dark, which helps the edge of a step stand out when the lights are low. Use it on stairs indoors and outdoors.
One roll measures 2 in (5 cm) wide and 16 ft 5 in (5 m) long. That is enough to cover several treads or to run a strip along a landing, a ramp or a walkway. The tape comes in two pack choices.
| Pack | What you get |
|---|---|
| 1 roll | One roll, 2 in (5 cm) wide by 16 ft 5 in (5 m) long |
| 2 rolls | Two rolls, each 2 in (5 cm) wide by 16 ft 5 in (5 m) long |
Pick 2 rolls when you have a full flight of stairs or more than one area to cover. Pick 1 roll for a short set of steps, a single doorway or a spot repair.
The tape is black with a green stripe. The black grit hides scuffs and dirt well on busy steps, and the green stripe is the part that glows. The finish is matte and textured, not smooth, because the grit is what does the gripping.
Because the stripe glows, the tape reads clearly at night. That makes it a practical choice for basement stairs, garage steps, porch steps and any outdoor stair that sees traffic after dark.
This tape is made for stairs indoors and outdoors. Common spots include:
For outdoor use, apply it when the surface is dry and the temperature is mild. The adhesive bonds best to a surface that is free of dust, oil and loose paint.
For a straight run, mark a light pencil line first so the strip stays even. If you are covering a rounded nosing, press the tape over the curve in short sections rather than all at once.
Sweep or vacuum the tape along with the rest of the step. For a deeper clean, wipe it with a damp cloth and mild soap, then let it air dry. Avoid harsh solvents and abrasive scrubbing, which can wear down the grit and dull the glow stripe.
Check the edges now and then. If a corner lifts, press it back down while the adhesive is still tacky. In cold weather, the glow stripe may need a few minutes under bright light before it glows at full strength. Replace the tape when the grit is worn smooth or the stripe no longer glows.
Each roll is 2 in (5 cm) wide and 16 ft 5 in (5 m) long. That is enough to cover several stair treads or a short walkway. The 2 roll pack gives you double the length.
Yes. It is made for stairs indoors and outdoors, including porch, deck and garage steps. Apply it to a clean, dry surface and let the adhesive set before heavy use.
The green stripe takes in light and glows in the dark, so the edge of a step stands out when the lights are low. Give it a few minutes under bright light before it glows at full strength.
Clean and dry the step, cut the tape to length, peel the backing and press it down. Push out any air bubbles as you go. Let the adhesive bond before walking on it.
