This is anti-slip tape made for stair treads and steps. The surface is a black abrasive grit that gives shoes something to grip, and a green luminous stripe runs along the tape so the step edge stays visible when the light is low. The luminous strip is 0.47 in (1.2 cm) wide.
The tape works indoors and outdoors. Use it on wooden steps, concrete stairs, deck stairs, basement steps and garage stairs. It is a simple way to mark the front edge of a step and add traction at the same time.
Two lengths are available. Both are 1.97 in (5 cm) wide, which fits most standard stair tread edges.
| Size | Width | Length |
|---|---|---|
| 2 in x 8.2 ft | 1.97 in (5 cm) | 8.2 ft (2.5 m) |
| 2 in x 16.4 ft | 1.97 in (5 cm) | 16.4 ft (5 m) |
Measure the width of your steps and the number of steps you want to cover before you choose. The shorter roll suits a small set of steps or a few touch-up spots. The longer roll covers more steps in one run.
The tape is black with a green stripe. The black grit surface hides dirt well and blends with most stair materials. The green stripe is the luminous part, so it reads as a soft green line in dim light.
The grit is coarse by design. That texture is what creates the anti-slip grip underfoot. The stripe sits within the tape, so the glow and the grip are part of the same strip.
For outdoor steps, apply the tape in dry conditions and give it time to settle before heavy use. On painted or sealed wood, test a small spot first if you plan to remove the tape later.
You can run the tape along the full width of each step or cut shorter strips for high-traffic spots. Keep the stripe facing up so it stays visible. If you use more than one strip on a step, line them up so the green stripe reads as one continuous line.
Wipe the tape clean with a damp cloth. For heavier buildup, use a mild soap on the cloth and wipe again with clean water. Avoid harsh solvents and stiff brushes, which can wear down the grit and dull the stripe.
Check the edges now and then, especially on outdoor steps. Press down any lifted corner so the tape stays flat and keeps its grip.
