Gritguard Anti-Slip Stair Tape is a roll of safety tape with a grinding grit surface on an adhesive backing. The grit gives feet and shoes something to grip, while the adhesive holds the tape flat against the step. Use it on stairs and steps, and anywhere you want a clear hazard warning or a safer walking surface.
The tape is made for stairs and steps, hazard warning, and safety. The grinding grit surface adds traction where you place it.
Each roll is 16.4 ft (5 m) long. Pick the width that matches your step and the look you want. A narrow width suits a single strip down the middle of a step. A wider width covers more of the tread and gives a bolder safety line.
| Width | Best for |
|---|---|
| 1 in (2.5 cm) | Narrow strips, small steps, light traffic areas |
| 2 in (5 cm) | Most stairs and steps, a balanced strip |
| 4 in (10 cm) | Wide coverage, high traffic steps, strong warning lines |
One roll covers several steps when you cut strips to fit. Measure your step depth before you cut so each strip sits where feet land.
Choose from three color options.
Black and yellow is the pick for safety zones and shared spaces where people need to see the edge of a step. Black and clear work well when you want traction without a loud stripe.
Place the tape near the front edge of the tread, where feet land first. For hazard warning, run a strip along the edge of each step so the change in height is easy to see.
Sweep or wipe the tape with a damp cloth to keep the grit clear of dirt and leaves. A clean grit surface grips better. Avoid harsh solvents and heavy scrubbing, which can wear down the adhesive or the grit. If a strip starts to lift at a corner, press it back down. Replace the tape when the grit is worn smooth or the adhesive no longer holds.
Check the tape now and then on steps that see a lot of traffic. A fresh strip takes only a minute to cut and press into place.
It comes in 1 in (2.5 cm), 2 in (5 cm) and 4 in (10 cm) widths. Pick the width that fits your step and the coverage you want.
Each roll is 16.4 ft (5 m) long. You can cut strips to fit each step, so one roll covers several steps.
The tape comes in black, black and yellow, and clear. Black and yellow gives the strongest hazard warning.
You get 1 roll of tape. Each roll is 16.4 ft (5 m) long.
