Gripweave Loop Stair Tread is a flat carpet tread made for indoor wooden stairs. It lies on the step surface rather than wrapping over the edge, so the nose of your stair stays visible and the tread stays clear of the trim.
The face is polypropylene loop pile in a low, tight weave. At about 0.2 in (5 mm) thick, it adds a soft layer underfoot without changing how your stairs feel to walk on. The edges are bound, which helps the tread keep its shape along the sides. Underneath, a non-slip TPR backing grips the step and helps reduce sliding.
Each order includes 1 tread. If you want to cover a full staircase, count your steps and order the number you need.
One size is available:
| Size | Best for |
|---|---|
| 20 x 80 cm (7.9 x 31.4 in) | Standard indoor wooden stair treads |
Measure the depth and width of one step before you order. The tread should sit within the flat part of the step and stop short of the nose. If your steps are wider than 31.4 in (80 cm), this tread will leave the sides of the step exposed.
Because the profile is flat, there is no lip or flap to fold over the edge. That keeps the tread low and even, and it means the tread does not interfere with the front edge of the step.
Gripweave Loop Stair Tread comes in six colors:
Black, brown and gray are easy picks for darker wood and busy households. Khaki and warm white suit lighter floors and a softer look. Light gray sits between the two and works well with cool-toned wood.
You can use one color on every step for a clean run, or alternate two colors for a subtle pattern. All colors share the same loop pile and TPR backing.
Start with a clean, dry step. Wipe away dust, crumbs and any grit, because a dirty surface gives the backing less to grip.
Place the tread flat on the step, centered left to right, and keep it short of the nose. Press it down from the middle outward so the backing makes full contact with the wood. Run your hand along the bound edges to check that nothing is folded under.
On smooth, sealed wood, the TPR backing holds well on its own. If your steps have a very polished finish or a lot of foot traffic, check the treads now and then and press them back down as needed.
Use them indoors on wooden stairs. They are not made for outdoor steps, concrete, or wet areas.
Shake or vacuum the treads regularly to lift dust and grit out of the loop pile. For a deeper clean, take them off the stairs and hand wash them in cool water with a mild soap. Rinse well and let them air dry completely, flat, before putting them back.
Do not machine wash hot, do not bleach, and do not put them in a dryer. High heat can harm the rubber backing and change the shape of the bound edges.
A quick vacuum once a week is usually enough to keep the pile looking even and to protect the backing from grit.
Yes. Each tread has a non-slip TPR backing that grips smooth indoor wood. Press it down firmly when you place it, and check it now and then on very polished steps.
No. The profile is flat, so the tread lies on the step and stops short of the nose. The front edge of your wooden step stays visible.
One tread per order. Count your steps first, then order the number you need to cover the staircase.
They are made for indoor wooden stairs. They are not intended for concrete, outdoor steps, or wet areas.
