What this stair tread is

Arc Felt Stair Tread is a flat, semi-circular pad made for indoor stairs. It lies on the step surface and stops short of the nose, so the front edge of your wood stays visible. The surface is 100 percent polyester felt, about 0.2 in (5 mm) thick. The back is self-adhesive non-slip PVC, so the tread grips the step and stays in place underfoot. The solid felt face has no pattern, which keeps the look calm on wood, painted or carpeted steps.

Sizes and pack options

Every tread in every pack is the same size. Pick the pack that covers the steps you want to treat.

Measure your step width before you order. If your steps are 24 in (60 cm) wide or wider, this tread fits. A pack of 4 suits a short run or a few high-traffic steps. A pack of 6 or 8 covers a full staircase in most homes.

Colors

Arc Felt Stair Tread comes in eleven colors: Brown, Brown black, Black, Gray black, Light gray, Fruit green, Beige, White, Red black, Dark blue and Dark gray. Solid tones like beige, light gray and brown blend with natural wood. Black, gray black and dark gray keep a low profile on darker steps. Fruit green, red black and dark blue add a clear accent. Brown black and red black mix two tones in one tread.

How to fit and use it

These treads are made for indoor stairs. Start with a clean, dry step. Wipe away dust and let the surface dry fully. Peel the backing and press the tread onto the step, centered and set back from the nose. Press down along the whole edge so the PVC backing makes full contact. The self-adhesive back holds the tread in place and the non-slip PVC adds grip. Because the profile is flat, the tread does not wrap over the edge. That keeps the nose of a wooden step in view and avoids a bump at the front. Use the same placement on each step for a neat, even line up the stairs. If you want to move a tread later, peel it up slowly from one corner.

Care

These treads are machine washable. Remove them from the stairs, then wash on a gentle cycle. Let them air dry completely before you press them back down. A dry step and a dry backing give the best hold. For light upkeep between washes, vacuum the felt or shake it out. Wash one tread at a time or group them by color so the tones stay true.
